Why do you want serve as Director: Serving on the NOR Board is an opportunity to do even more for an organization that I am already passionate about. As a Board Member, I’m entrusted with the fiduciary responsibility to see that member funds are well spent, and to protect our best interests and the best interests of the organization. It also allows me to give back to our industry in a different capacity.

Current and Past Community Involvement: I have served on the Heartland Board of Realtors from 2016-2019.  When HBOR merged with TRAR, I was an integral part in the creation of the Heartland Real Estate Association.  I currently serve as the Secretary on the HREA Board.  I also currently serve on the Fostoria Area Chamber of Commerce Board as a Director. In the past, I have served on the Fostoria Area Habitat for Humanity Board as well as the United Way Board in Fostoria.  I also currently coach children at Calvert Catholic in the Athletics Department.

Financial Oversight: By serving on the aforementioned Boards, I have a fundamental responsibility to provide oversight and accountability for the organization which includes financial oversight.  Although I am not a a financial whiz, I do have business and finance experience by owning my own business. The Business Management Course I took at ONU helped sharpen my financial literacy to understand terminology, read and evaluate financial statements and ask the right questions.

Communications:  A driving force in the real estate industry is communication.  For me as a practicing REALTOR, communication is key.  Frequently being a liaison between the buyers and sellers, the other agent, the title company, etc., communication is really the backbone of my real estate business.  I feel I am a real estate agent who can communicate clearly and effectively and I find success in the industry because of those skills.

Strategic Planning:  I have sat on several boards and helped implement a strategic plan for multiple organizations.  As an individual, I have also created a strategic plan that functions and works well for my real estate and rental businesses.  My brand and image in the real estate industry is consistent, creditable and trustworthy.  This plan has helped me strengthen my foundation and has helped build my real estate business.

Technology: I have created the HREA logo as the Association started up.  I currently use social media platforms, several MLS databases, actively manage my own business website, and am well versed in Microsoft Office.  I currently sit as the Chair on the HREA Forms Committee –formatting and structuring new documents and making those documents PDF editable.

Real Estate Trends: I track real-time market data, as that is very important to know when to invest and tell your clients to invest.  Listening to your clients and applying the nuances of each transaction to future transactions creates larger changes in how the market behaves.  I am a lifelong learner and read often and develop new relationships by integrating new ideas and things in your conversations.

Also, I keep up on local and global news to track trends at both a macro and micro level.  Keeping on top of your clients’ feedback is very important and I deliberately look for opportunities to listen to people  I stay in communication and network with other professionals in the industry and periodically ask them if they are noticing any changes in the market.

Leadership Experience: Most recently, I was an integral part in a recent RPAC fundraiser for HREA.  We raised over $5,000 for RPAC and had a great turn out from our local agents and affiliates.
